The BYU Research & Writing Center is hiring students from ALL MAJORS to work as writing consultants for the Winter 2024 semester. RWC writing consultants support students from across the university with their various writing projects. If you are interested in joining a dynamic community, strengthening your writing and communication skills, improving your résumé, and helping your peers improve as writers, then this is the opportunity for you!

This job will be managed by an industry professional and may count towards credit for the right classes/majors.

The Coca-Cola Refreshing Films program provides an opportunity for up-and-coming filmmakers to create content for the big screen. The program is designed to give student filmmakers a real-word experience working with a big brand and creating branded content. The goal of the program is that each student participant can use this experience to help further their careers in the film industry. Students have until October 10th, 2023 at 9:59pm MST to submit pitches and budgets for their branded ads according to the creative brief (download below). Four pitches from submissions from over 60 affiliated schools will be selected and given $20,000 to create their films. One winners will be selected and have their short film shown in theatres across the country. A fan favorite film will also be awarded.

SBIFF’s Film Studies Program is a three-day symposium open to all undergraduate students from around the United States. The program emphasizes film appreciation, criticism, and analysis. Led by SBIFF sanctioned film educators, participating students experience a packed program with access to SBIFF’s many events and opportunities, including:

BYU Music Group (BYUMG) is looking for a driven, self-motivated Media Arts student to help produce music videos for BYU performing ensembles such as BYU Vocal Point, BYU Noteworthy, BYU Men’s Chorus, and more. The Producer would be a key member of our internal Content Development Team and will work directly with the BYUMG Executive Producer and staff, the directors/conductors of the ensembles, and members of the ensembles.

BYU's video team is looking for student filmmakers and production crew members to help create content for BYU’s social media channels and for broadcast. We produce commercials, short documentary projects, inspirational messages, and other projects to promote BYU (see youtube.com/byu). This is a great hands-on opportunity to learn video production, to work with professional cinema cameras and editing facilities, and to build a production reel. Creativity, conceptual thinking, and collaboration are all encouraged within our team. Many of our former students are working in the film industry as video editors, directors, and visual effects artists.

In search of volunteer actors to perform in an official Church music video that will take place in Costa Rica. ALL EXPENSES PAID, including Airfare, Lodging, Food, and Transportation.

BYU Law's Trial Advocacy Team is hosting our annual mock trial competition. While law students serve as advocates, we rely on volunteers to act as witnesses. Anyone interested in law or looking for a fun acting opportunity is encouraged to volunteer. This competition will be held on the evenings of November 4th, 6th, and 8th, at the law school. In total, the commitment to serve as a witness need take no longer than a few hours. Any volunteers will be provided with a witness packet with all necessary information.

(Paid) The Publishing Services Department is looking to hire a vendor to create two lyric videos for the upcoming 2024 FSY Album. One video would be animation or motion graphic based, and the other, would utilize stock footage from one of several databases for which the church has an account with. Charitable Acts Theatre is putting on Our Town and is looking to fill the remaining male roles. These include the larger role of George and smaller roles, like baseball players and milkmen. We are starting a Musical Theatre club at OJHS, and unfortunately our dance teacher is unable to assist. We are in need of a choreographer! We are looking for someone with MDT experience to choreograph 1-2 songs for 7th-9th graders to perform. Exact song choices are TBD, but a few we are considering are "When I Grow Up" from Matilda, "Anything Can Happen" from Mary Poppins, and "We're All Made of Stars" from Finding Neverland.

We are looking for a production team for the upcoming production of Lady of Sherwood. This is a fun, adventurous new musical and a female twist on the Robin Hood story. We'd love to give opportunities to anyone with who'd like some real world experience working on a full scale production. Minimal experience required, enthusiasm is more important!

International Theatre & Dance Project (ITDP) is a cultural immersion, college-level theatre training intensive held in Greece each summer for students ages 18-25. This year the program runs July 22-August 9. We will spend 4-nights in Athens, 1-night in Tolos to see a production at the Ancient Theatre at Epidaurus, 14-nights on the cycladic island of Naxos, and 1-final night stay on August 10 in Rafina Port by the Athens Airport.
