The Festival is a summer destination in Upstate New York where people from across the country and the world come to experience world-class opera, musical theater, and cultural events in a beautiful, relaxing setting.

All Apprentices are Paid $15.00/hr + OT and Receive Free Housing.
Why Be an Apprentice at The Glimmerglass Festival?
- The Program offers nearly 60 Apprenticeships in 30 different specialties in the Theatre/Opera Industry ranging from positions in Artistic Operations, General Administration, and a wide range of Technical Production opportunities.
- All earn an hourly wage ($15.00/hr) and are eligible for overtime after 40 hours.
- All are provided with housing by the company (estimated $750 monthly savings), and haveaccess to transportation to and from work, should they need it, by our Company Management Department.
- All are given a minimum of one day off per week, 30-60 minute meal breaks every four to six hours, as well as periodic 15-minute breaks.
- In addition to the mandatory safety, policies, and EDI orientation upon arrival, we provide a wide range of weekly seminars, workshops, and training throughout the summer season, directly aimed at the interests of the Apprentices. These additional learning opportunities include workshops about resume/portfolio building, communication skills, handling hazardous materials, financial intelligence, stress mitigation strategies, theatrical weapon safety, and many more.
- The Glimmerglass Festival is entering its 49th presenting season and has connections throughout the country and world, including The Metropolitan Opera, Cirque du Soleil, Broadway and Off-Broadway, regional theaters, cruise lines, touring companies, and SO many more throughout the country – inside the industry and out.

FREE Info Sessions Available!
We offer info sessions at no charge to educational organizations (colleges, universities, vocational programs, etc.). We are happy to schedule a resume/cover letter workshop with a group of your students in pairing with a short information session about The Glimmerglass Festival and what we do!
