Actors and Theatre Ed Students Needed to Help With Educational Theatre Program

Lewis Events is seeking a few energetic and motivated students to help with their unique entertainment and activity-based educational program.

The program is presented to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students throughout Southern California from March to June. The 4th grade focuses on the California Gold Rush. The 5th grade focuses on the colonial period and the birth of the United States. The 6th grade focuses on ancient civilizations. Each presentation starts with an entertaining, historical-based, on-stage assembly for the students. Following the assembly, the students participate in a variety of hands-on activities related to the period of history being studied. Activities might include gold panning, butter churning, weaving, frontier field games, hieroglyphics, survival skills, candle making, and many more.

We have two types of positions available
Individuals are to learn a script and perform in the stage program. Following the stage program, assist in running and supervising parents and staff who are running the student’s hands-on activities.
Individuals who help manage the on-site program by interfacing with school staff and helping to set up and run the activities.
A combination of the two above positions.

Compensation - $16-20+ per hour based on experience and position with potential to progress.
Schedule - Most weekdays from approximately 7 am-2 pm. Schedule varies. March - mid-June.
Locations - Schools sites in the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties.

This is fun and valuable opportunity for students or performers to roll up their sleeves and participate in a unique guest experience program. They are paid positions or paid internships, where students or alumni will enhance their skills and work experience by learning in a professional environment. There will be some unloading and setting up of props and activities.
