Film Restoration Experiential Learning Opportunity

The Directors Guild of America announced today changes to the organization’s initiative to highlight student filmmakers from marginalized communities. The Guild has expanded the number of eligible institutions to include community colleges and technical schools with film coursework while also expanding the pool of eligible applicants to include any student from marginalized communities attending U.S. based post-secondary institutions with film curriculum.

Documenting Research and Dance in Costa Rica

Looking for an experienced female film student to accompany BYU Dance Education Students to Costa Rica June 3-16th, 2023 to document a research project. The film student will be responsible for filming interviews, dance teaching experiences, as well as creating a screendance (artistically filming and editing a dance), which will be filmed on location with a Costa Rican dance group. The cost of the trip will be covered for the film student and a stipend given for editing the footage.

Sculpture Park Short Film

My name is Hunter and I am a BYU student intern for the Monument of the Americas, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are making significant progress towards the creation of a statue garden honoring and depicting Jesus Christ's visit to the Americas as recorded in the Book of Mormon and other related art pieces. The head sculptor and visionary on this project is Dr. Steven Neal, a sculptor and plastic surgeon, who created the sculptures for the Mormon Battalion Monument in Salt Lake City.
