Student Videographer PAID

We are seeking a student Videographer to help us create strong video content for social media, websites, and advertising campaigns. Some of the videos you produce will be creative in nature, and some will involve simply recording speakers at events.

You’re an ideal candidate if:

1. You’re a creative person who knows how to capture events and create original content.

2. You have experience with videography.

Are comfortable using a Canon DSLR on manual mode for capturing RAW footage.

Strong knowledge of composition, lighting, framing, camera movements, and editing for video.

Understanding of how to operate professional camera and audio equipment.

3. You have experience with editing software.

4. You’re experienced with video production from conception to final product

Pitch ideas to managers and clients

Ability to write scripts and create shot lists for video ideas

Use visual storytelling skills to create compelling content

Scout locations and organize film shoots

Take feedback professionally and make necessary adjustments to videos

Good cloud storage organizational skills to keep projects organized and easy to access

* Please note that not all projects will be as creative in nature; some recurring video assignments will simply be recording and editing department seminar footage

5. You know how to convert and upload content to YouTube and other cloud-based servers.

6. You’d like a flexible schedule of 5-10 hours a week (very variable!) that works around your classes.

You MUST be available to work Thursdays 10-12:30 to film our department research seminars once a month.

Some additional responsibilities may include:

Participating in the occasional daytime and evening activities taking place in the Department of Exercise Sciences to capture video for websites and social media

Managing your projects with little supervision and meeting deadlines

During the interview, we want you to demonstrate:

Maturity: ability to take ownership of work, be dependable, and manage priorities

Social skills: comfortable around a variety of people, especially helping them be at ease when filming or giving feedback

Relatable: understand student audience and what type of content resonates with them
