Advanced Film Productions Indie
AFP INDIE
We’re happy to announce that we’re now accepting scripts for the very first round of AFP Indies this Winter semester.
In an effort to provide more filmmaking opportunities, the Media Arts Faculty have created a new, more nimble model of Advanced Film Productions in the Media Arts Program. Indies will mimic an independent filmmaking model, or a guerrilla style of filmmaking, that will give students a leg up in the indie scene. This is a great opportunity to work with a tight knit team to produce a high quality short film!
This Indie class will begin Winter ‘25 and run through Spring Term ‘25. Students who are interested in participating in an AFP Indie project, must submit their script by October 3rd. Teams should consist of a director and a producer at the time of the pitch. Directors must have completed TMA 318 & TMA 418 by the beginning of Winter ‘25 to be eligible.
Check out the following details for AFP Indies:
- $2000 budgets
- Max 3 shooting days
- Key crew of 5 students (all of whom sign up for the class).
- Production schedule consisting of three terms (winter semester and spring term)
- Scripts should fit the above parameters when considering length and scope.
- All five crew members must be TMA majors or minors, and must be registered for the appropriate section of TMA 315R during both the winter semester and the spring term.
If selected to pitch, directors and producers will be invited to pitch to the faculty on October 17. A pitch deck will be required, more information will be sent to you before the pitch.
