TMA Announcements

It's going to be an awesome event where every university in Utah is having a service project on the same day. BYU's service project will include a blood drive, making bed mats for refugees and homeless populations, writing cards to the elderly, and even going off-campus to build homes for those in need. It will be an amazing event and we're hoping to spread the word to as many people as possible.

The Coca-Cola Refreshing Films program provides an opportunity for up-and-coming filmmakers to create content for the big screen. The program is designed to give student filmmakers a real-word experience working with a big brand and creating branded content. The goal of the program is that each student participant can use this experience to help further their careers in the film industry. Students have until October 10th, 2023 at 9:59pm MST to submit pitches and budgets for their branded ads according to the creative brief (download below). Four pitches from submissions from over 60 affiliated schools will be selected and given $20,000 to create their films. One winners will be selected and have their short film shown in theatres across the country. A fan favorite film will also be awarded.

The applications for the 2024 season are open and available right now until October 15th. We are hoping you might be able to help us get the word out to the institutes and specifically the choir leaders at each one. BYU's video team is looking for student filmmakers and production crew members to help create content for BYU’s social media channels and for broadcast. We produce commercials, short documentary projects, inspirational messages, and other projects to promote BYU (see youtube.com/byu). This is a great hands-on opportunity to learn video production, to work with professional cinema cameras and editing facilities, and to build a production reel. Creativity, conceptual thinking, and collaboration are all encouraged within our team. Many of our former students are working in the film industry as video editors, directors, and visual effects artists.
