Incoming Student Design and Technology Scholarship
We are delighted to extend an invitation to incoming freshmen and transfer students to apply for the prestigious Incoming Student Design and Technology Scholarship offered by the Design and Technology Area within the Theatre and Media Arts Department. This scholarship is not only a testament to our commitment to supporting your education but also an investment in your future as an emerging leader in the realm of technical theatre.
We warmly welcome students who wish to pursue studies in any area of theatrical design or technology, including sets, props, costumes, hair & makeup, lighting, sound, technical direction, and stage management. Through this application process, we eagerly anticipate gaining a deeper understanding of your passion, dedication, and aspirations within the craft of theatre production. We invite you to become an integral part of our dynamic community—where your journey, experiences, and artistic vision will be celebrated, nurtured, and empowered.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for the Incoming Student Design and Technology Scholarship, applicants must:
- Apply as an incoming student to the university.
- Declare Theatre Arts Studies as their intended major.
Application Process:
To qualify for this scholarship for the upcoming academic year, please submit a PDF portfolio that includes the following:
- A one-page cover letter introducing yourself, highlighting your technical interests, and reflecting on your theatrical journey.
- A portfolio showcasing your best three to five projects (maximum 20 slides in a PDF format).
- A comprehensive Theatre Resume (reference example provided).
- Your current GPA and ACT scores.
- Contact information for two references who can speak to your work and abilities.
Important Note:
All scholarship awards are contingent upon the student’s acceptance to the university.Deadlines:
