About Us:
We are a Utah-based non-profit organization that has been empowering students from underserved communities for nearly a decade. Our mission is to provide exposure to legal aid and resources that prepare students for law school. We offer LSAT test prep, scholarships, internships, ambassadorships, and mentorship with attorneys. Our ultimate goal is to bridge the gap for aspiring law students by providing them with valuable opportunities and support.
Position Overview:
We are seeking one or two passionate students with extensive experience in podcast recording, audio engineering, filming, and editing to assist with the launch and production of our new legal podcast. As a Volunteer Media Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of podcast production, media content creation, and legal networking, all while contributing to a meaningful cause. This position is perfect for someone eager to build their resume and work alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our Administrative Coordinator, who will act as your supervisor, to develop and launch our legal podcast.
Record, edit, and produce high-quality podcast audio, ensuring optimal sound and content quality.
Assist in filming and editing video content for the podcast and other promotional materials.
Support the creation and implementation of media strategies to enhance the podcast's reach and engagement.
Provide technical support for podcast equipment and setup, including cameras, microphones, and audio recording devices.
Attend virtual or in-person meetings with the team to brainstorm ideas and ensure the podcast aligns with our mission.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Strong background in podcast production and audio recording.
Proficiency in audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools).
Knowledge of camera operation and film production processes.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for social justice, education, and law, especially as it relates to serving underserved communities.
Previous experience with nonprofit or community-based projects is a plus, but not required.
