Jeff Parkin graduated from the University of Southern California with undergraduate degrees in Film & Television Production and English. He received his MFA in screenwriting and directing from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Jeff has worked with such companies as United Artists, Paramount Pictures, Orion Pictures, CBS, Miramax Films, and 20th Century Fox. He developed and co-produced the #1 rated CBS film, “Cab to Canada”; he produced “mr. dungbeetle”, an independent film that has played at festivals across the country and won numerous awards; he directed, co-wrote and produced the feature film, “Together Again for the First Time”, starring David Ogden Stiers, Julia Duffy, Joey Lawrence and Larissa Oleynik; and he is the creator and director of “The Book of Jer3miah”, an interactive web series and alternate reality game that the New York Times praised as “a tight, suspenseful series,” and was a Webby Awards Honoree for Best Drama. He co-created, co-wrote and directed the groundbreaking digital mom-comedy "Pretty Darn Funny". He is executive producer of numerous award-winning student films, including “Inspector 42”, winner of two student Emmy Awards and a regional student Oscar. Jeff serves as the head of Production in the department of Theatre and Media Arts, and teaches screenwriting, directing, producing and New Media. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Latter-day Saints Art in New York City. He is married to the painter, Jana Winter Parkin, and they have three children and two grandchildren.
