Presenting Brigham Young University’s Young Company Theatre for Young Audience programs for the 2025-2026 school year.

This year our Contemporary Production is the charming My Robot by Finegan Kruckemeyer, directed by Teresa Love to include lots of physical comedy and humorous shenanigans.  When Ophelia’s family decide to move to the seaside, she’s not impressed. She doesn’t like the beach, or the people, or the farawayness of the life she once knew. But she does like inventing. So, when a mysterious box full of gadgets, and a strange note that reads ‘You Make Me’ arrives in her bedroom one night… she invents a solution. Together Ophelia and her robot friend Olivetti will thwart bullies, build bridges and enact daring rescues on angry oceans, along the way learning that if one piece goes missing it can take a great effort, to find that lost something and fill up the gap.    This play is recommended for kindergarten through 4th grade. My Robot  is now booking for school tour performances October through December 2025.    Come see the show on-campus November 12-22, 2025.

This year’s Shakespeare Production will be a bit of a departure from our classic productions with Hamlet and Zombies! by veteran playwright Don Zoldis, brought to life for your elementary students by director David Morgan.    Something is rotting in the state of Denmark, and Hamlet may be the only one who is on to it. With the help of his friend Horatio and cousin Laertes, Hamlet solves the mystery of his mother’s marriage to his uncle, observes his father’s transformation from king to zombie king, saves his love, Ophelia, and fends off both the Norwegians and the zombie hordes. Using Shakespeare’s original rich verse and intricate detail, along with a few contemporary updates, this fun, tongue-in-cheek version of Hamlet is sure to move your heart and eat your brains. This adaptation is perfect for those just learning Shakespeare’s stories and those who are looking for a spooky retelling of one of the Bard’s classics with lots of fun and a little bite.   This play is recommended for grades 4-8.  Hamlet and Zombies is now booking school tour performances February through April 2026.     Come see the show on-campus April 1-11, 2026.
