Registration
It is time for you to register for UTA. You will be registering individually on the UTA website. It will cost about $45 per student to register. This is the link to the Google Form for registration. On the first page of the Google Form, you will choose that you are registering as an individual, and on the second page, choose that you are registering as a university student. If you have any questions about the registration process, please email the ThEd Specialist, Kate Tullis. The deadline isn't until December 1st, but PLEASE make the time to register now so that you don't worry about paying a late fee or missing the deadline completely.

Workshop Proposals
As previously mentioned, each person attending UTA will need to submit a workshop proposal and you are encouraged to team teach. However, you can choose to teach solo if you prefer. We are asking that your workshop proposals be emailed to Carrie Lopez ( carrie_lopez@byu.edu) and Kate Tullis (kate_tullis@byu.edu), by Wednesday, November 1st. We will respond with comments and suggestions. You will then have a chance to revise before you submit the final proposal to UTA by Nov 21st. A reminder that if you teach at UTA, you will be paid (and both of you will be paid if you team teach) which will more than cover your registration fee. Last year, workshop teachers were paid about $70, and my guess is that you will be paid a similar amount this year. Below is a list of information we need you to send us with your proposal.

Workshop proposal details

    • This is not a full lesson plan. However, it should have a very basic outline (follow lesson plan structure—objective, steps of instructional/activity ideas, etc.). We need to be able to tell what the lesson will look like from beginning to end. If it is not clear, we will ask for more details.
    • A solid paragraph description of your proposed workshop. These are printed in the UTA schedule so that attendees can decide which workshops they would like to attend. Think about how you can pitch what you are doing and to encourage students to come to your workshop.
    • Will you be team teaching and if so, with whom?
    • The theme for UTA this year is Beyond Broadway! You can choose to center your workshop proposal around this idea if you would like.
    • Proposals due to Carrie and Kate by Nov 1st.
    • Revisions and final submission due Nov 21st.
