"Heavenly Country" is a new jukebox musical play that features songs from the Country and related genres (Gospel, Rockabilly, Blues, Spirituals). The soundtrack includes 10 songs that ranked #1 on the charts.
The world premiere of "Heavenly Country" will take place March 24 to April 22 at the Two Roads Theater in Studio City, north of Los Angeles. Both the playwright-producer and the director are BYU theater alums.
We're looking for recent alumni, relatives or remote students interested in roles in the show, which has a gospel-friendly or faith-based theme. The story is basically boy meets girl, they fall in love, but boy has a drinking problem. Through their love and faith in God, he overcomes his addiction and they get married.
