Biography
Benjamin Thevenin is an Associate Professor in Media Arts. His scholarly and creative work focuses on media literacy, civic engagement, the environment, film, and new media. His 2022 book Making Media Matter: Critical Literacy, Popular Culture, and Creative Production is a resource for media educators interested in integrating critical inquiry and creative expression, politics and play in their pedagogy. He teaches courses in media education, children’s media, new media, pop culture and ecomedia literacy, and he collaborates with his students and colleagues on creative work including games, films, podcasts, VR, web-series and so on.
