Position Overview
The Assistant Director will support the Director in all aspects of the production process, from auditions to final performances. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, creative, and eager to mentor young performers while contributing to a collaborative and purpose-driven theatrical environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist the Director in planning and executing rehearsals.
-Provide feedback and guidance to performers.
-Support creative decision-making, including staging, character development, and blocking.
-Assist with production needs, such as props, costumes, and set transitions.
-Step in for the Director when needed and ensure a smooth rehearsal process.
-Foster a positive, encouraging, and educational environment for the performers.
Qualifications
-Experience in directing, acting, or theater production (previous assistant directing experience preferred but not required).
-Strong leadership and communication skills.
-Passion for working with young performers and fostering personal growth through theater.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
-Availability for rehearsals, tech week, and performances.
