KENNEDY CENTER AMERICAN COLLEGE THEATRE FESTIVAL REGIONAL COMPETITION | REGION VIII
Many of BYU's top theatre students competed at the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in Los Angeles. All of the participating acting students made the semi-finals for the region's Irene Ryan scholarship nomination. BYU's "Radium Girls" had an invitational performance at the festival, qualifying the production for national awards.

VERA HINCKLEY MAYHEW PLAYWRITING CONTEST
The Vera Hinckley Mayhew Student Creative Arts Contests was launched in 1963 to recognize achievements in short story writing. The competition has continued annually, adding seven additional contests — including the Playwriting Contest — to honor the work of BYU students in various avenues of creative writing and the fine arts.
