Hi students! I’m Tricia (Cowgill) Netti, Lead Program Director for Adaptive Show Choir On the Move (ASCOTM), a Y-Serve sister program to Adaptive Show Choir. This is a brand-new program, and we’re looking for volunteers to help love and support our choir members.
Our volunteers visit a day program about 15 minutes from campus that serves individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You’ll help teach songs and simple choreography for an end-of-semester concert. No need to create your own choreography—the program director team provides all music and dance instructions. Your focus will be on connecting with and supporting the choir members.
We meet every Friday from 10:30–11:30 a.m., and while many students currently carpool, we’re looking to expand our volunteer group to make it easier for everyone to join.
This is a fantastic way to get involved in the community and form genuine, lasting relationships. Volunteers are paired one-on-one or two-on-one with choir members, and everyone, both choir members and volunteers, finds the experience rewarding and uplifting.
