A few weeks ago, we reached out inviting you to share with us where you’ve put your Christus statue, and how it’s influenced your life. We’ve received so many wonderful submissions, and will be sharing a few of them over the next few weeks in the newsletter! Tiago, a media arts student, shared, “I took my Christus statue home for Christmas with me. First, I wrapped the box in gift wrap, placing it under my Christmas tree. Then, on Christmas Eve--my family opens gifts on Christmas Eve, it's a Portuguese tradition--we opened our gifts, including our Christus statue. It really put the reason for Christmas into perspective.It's not about the gifts. It's not about spending time with family. It's not about us. It's not about any of those things alone. It's about Jesus Christ. It's about remembering Christ as our Savior, who was born, died, and resurrected for our sins, so that we can live with Heavenly Father and our families again. He is the greatest gift we ever received from our Father in Heaven. He is the reason we can be with Heavenly Father again. He is the reason we have eternal families. All those things are what we pondered during Christmas, and everyday as we see Him on top of our TV stand. Because my dad and I love watching movies, He also reminds us of finding Christ in every movie. And, if we can't, maybe we shouldn't be watching it. He also reminds me that He is there to help us out whenever we need help, even with filmmaking.
