    Profile: Ben Phelan is an adjunct professor in the theatre and media arts department at Brigham Young University. He received his BA from BYU in 2008 and is currently a PhD candidate at Louisiana State University. His dissertation is titled The Machine Gun Hand: Robots and Ideology in America, 1893-Present. Besides technology and performance, he has research interests in literary theory, and Mormon history. Ben Phelan is a member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, and has served as an editorial assistant for the religion and theatre journal Ecumenica. A few favorite directing credits include The Matchmaker, The Lesson, and Drums in the Night.
