Profile: Todd Bowen is the Post Production and Graphics Manager for BYU Broadcasting. He manages a department of about 100 employees, consisting of full-time, part-time and student staff. Todd came to BYU almost eight years ago, to help open the new BYU broadcast center. The BYUB Post Production department performs all editorial, color correction, sound design, motion graphics, VFX, live graphic production (sports), and closed captioning, along with various other tasks for BYU Broadcasting. Thanks to his efforts, they can process a significantly large volume of media, on the average of 300 TV programs and 800 promotions monthly.
In over 35 years of media production, he has had a very broad range of experience working in such areas as production planning, producing, directing, lighting, cinematography, editing, color correction, sound design and all other aspects of quality broadcast production. He has expertise in shooting 35mm and16mm film, for commercial productions; a unique media that laid the foundation for today’s production methods. Additionally, he has produced and directed hundreds, if not thousands of multi-camera productions, newscasts, commercials, telethons, and sporting events. Todd has also consulted and advice with various professional production clients all over the US.
During his time with California State University, Fresno, while working for Athletics and producing sports he had the great pleasure teaching several sessions of Media Law, a subject of study he can say he has truly came to love.
