A few weeks ago, we reached out inviting you to share with us where you’ve put your Christus statue, and how it’s infuenced your life. We’ve received so many wonderful submissions, and will be sharing a few of them over the next few weeks in the newsletter! And as always, feel free to continue sending those photos and thoughts for us to read and share!
Sofia, a media arts student, shared, “I keep my Christus statue right by my bed. It is alongside a beautiful portrait entitled “My Child” (by David Bowman), depicting Jesus Christ giving a loving embrace to a daughter of God, a reminder of His eternal love and selfless sacrifice for each of God’s children. My Christus statue offers embracing arms beside me, watching over me day and night. It is next to a miniature elephant statue that says, “Remember you are loved.” Elephants are known for possessing remarkable memories. Jesus Christ remembers us always with the marks engraven upon the palms of His hands. My Christus statue sits next to a bar of lavender soap, a gift that was given to me at Christmas. The combination of these elements seems to say, “Take a deep breath. God is with you. Jesus Christ is your Savior, and He knows and loves you with an incredible love and perfect, watchful care. All things are possible through Him. You are a child of God, and He loves you.
