Merit Scholarships Also known as "talent or merit awards," merit scholarships are given to selected students to be applied first toward tuition and school debt. They range between $100 and $765 per semester and in February are awarded for the entire following year; spring, summer, fall and winter. Awards are nontransferable.
Recipients must generally be full-time, degree-seeking students, majoring in Theatre and Media Arts during the year for which they are applying. Any student who receives a talent award and during the course of the semester is put on Academic Probation will forfeit the award.
Auditions and creative samples, though not mandatory, have proven advantageous to applying students. Any monologues or recordings must not exceed 5 minutes. Acting Auditions will be held Saturday, February 16 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please call 801-422-6645 for an appointment.
The application deadline is Friday, February 13, 2009 for Spring 2009, Summer 2009, Fall 2009, and Winter 2010. Please submit your application ahead of time to ensure your eligibility.
